Model Description
The Leica Ic was a technical version of the IIIc without a built-in viewfinder or rangefinder. The body supplied the Leica screw mount, shutter and film transport for equipment that provided its own method of viewing or focusing. Typical uses included microscopy, copying apparatus and the Visoflex reflex system. Two accessory shoes permitted external finders or other equipment to be mounted when required. The same principle had appeared in earlier specialist Leica equipment and continued afterward in the If and Ig, followed later by the finderless MD-series M bodies.
