Model Description

The Leica M4-P extended the M4-2 finder to six focal lengths. Its paired bright lines covered 28/90mm, 35/135mm and 50/75mm, adding direct framing for 28mm and 75mm lenses. The camera remained mechanical and meterless and retained the hot shoe and motor compatibility of the M4-2. This six-frame finder arrangement was subsequently carried into the original M6. The M4-P therefore differs from the earlier M4 family principally in the expanded viewfinder rather than through a change to the shutter or exposure system.
