Model Description
The Leica M6 TTL added through-the-lens flash exposure control to the M6. Additional electronics made the upper body slightly taller, and the shutter-speed dial became larger. Its direction of rotation was reversed so that adjustment corresponded directly with the directional meter indications in the finder. Versions were offered with 0.58×, 0.72× and 0.85× finder magnifications to suit different lens ranges and viewing requirements. The focal-plane shutter itself remained mechanically controlled, so battery power was required for metering and TTL flash functions rather than for ordinary shutter operation.
