Model Description
The Leica IIIf added built-in adjustable flash synchronization to the mature screw-mount rangefinder. Early cameras are commonly described as Black Dial models from the colour of the synchronization markings; revised Red Dial versions followed. Later variants could also be supplied with a self-timer. The camera otherwise retained the familiar separate rangefinder and viewfinder, the 39mm screw mount and the separate fast- and slow-speed shutter controls. Approximately 184,800 cameras are represented, making the IIIf one of the largest production groups among the classic Leica screw-mount rangefinders.
