Model Description
The IIIc K was a special version of the IIIc incorporating ball bearings in parts of the shutter and transport mechanism. The modification was intended to improve operation under severe conditions, including low temperatures where lubrication and ordinary mechanical arrangements could become troublesome. Many examples are associated with wartime military supply, though finish and external markings are not uniform and should not by themselves be taken as proof of a particular contract. The K designation is generally associated with the bearing-equipped mechanism, from the German Kugellager.
