Model Description
The Leica MDa succeeded the MD and applied the same finderless technical arrangement to the M4 generation. It has neither a rangefinder nor a conventional viewfinder and was intended for scientific, medical, copying and administrative recording work. The M4-derived mechanism brought the rapid-loading system and angled rewind crank to the technical body. Registration equipment could be fitted for recording identifying information with the image, and special Postkamera versions also existed. The MDa was consequently a configurable recording body rather than simply a stripped-down M4 for ordinary photography.
